Integration of SIRIUS OS
Model-based development for drive inverters with SIRIUS OS
Challenge
High time expenditure and long time-to-market
The development of drive inverter software using traditional programming methods is highly manual. Changes, extensions and tests are time-consuming and lead to long development cycles, which means that new features are only launched on the market with a delay.
High development and follow-up costs
Manual programming, complex test processes and late detection of errors increase both direct development costs and indirect costs due to rework, delays and quality problems in the field.
Limited innovation capacity
Solution
Integration of SIRIUS OS for model-based development
We installed our embedded real-time platform SIRIUS OS on the customer’s hardware. SIRIUS OS offers our customer a complete package for a powerful, highly scalable and expandable development environment. This enables the model-based development of all control software with MATLAB® Simulink® via the software platform. SIRIUS OS offers access to all features that are important for intelligent field devices, such as real-time communication, IoT connectivity and remote updatability.
Tools: SIRIUS OS, MATLAB® Simulink®
Result
Reduction of the development effort by 30%
The reduced workload through automatic code generation and optimized development processes creates capacity for innovations, new features and strategic product enhancements.
50% shorter time-to-market
Development and test processes have been significantly accelerated. New functions can be developed, simulated and validated more quickly.
Increased software quality
Model-based development enables consistent, comprehensible and tested software architectures. The result is more stable, more robust and easier to maintain software solutions.
