Challenge
High time and cost expenditure due to frequent test bench conversions
Each change of the control unit (DuT) required manual, complex conversions on the test bench. This tied up qualified resources, extended throughput times and increased operating costs.
Increased susceptibility to errors and project risks
Manual set-up processes were a recurring source of errors. Misconfigurations led to incorrect test results, rework and delays in development.
Blocked test benches and low capacity utilization
During the changeover times, test benches were not available for productive use. This led to bottlenecks, postponed deadlines and limited scalability of test capacity.
Solution
Development of a test bench with multiplexer for serial testing
We developed a dSpace test bench as well as a multiplexer and simulation models to enable the parallel connection of three brake control units. This allows serial tests with three different control units to be carried out on one test bench without the need for on-site modifications.
The solution offers the customer a modern and intuitive dSpace test environment. It also enables full internal
access to the simulation model so that adaptations and extensions can be made more quickly
.

Switching between control units is done on the software side with a click. Manual intervention is minimized, which increases process reliability and test quality.
